Please note that this page may not include all development applications pending in the ward.  I try to update as I receive applications but as I maintain the web site myself, this may result in delays in information.  Please contact me with any specific questions.

Development in Ward 9

Meadowvale Islamic Centre: application to build a 15,000 square foot mosque on Winston Churchill Blvd. (opposite Canadian Tire).

I held a local meeting in March to show the adjacent residents the proposed plan and obtain some initial comments.

There has been no formal application filed as of June 13,2011.  There will be no further public meetings until the fall pending the filing of an application and review by staff.

Aquitaine/Tenth Line:  application from Union Gas to develop residential on their pumping station site.  More good news!!!  I have been negotiating with Union Gas to get them to sell the land to the City so we can replace the Plum Tree Parkland with a more suitable park.  The president of Union Gas has agreed to negotiate and they have also agreed to not proceed with the application.  Another win for our community.

We are still negotiating to purchase the land and I am hopeful this will be settled soon.
